Instructions for how to setup GPS email on the Mail app for iPad or iPhone
- Open Settings > tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars > tap Add Account > tap Exchange (not Outlook).
- Type in your GPS email address including the @gps.edu, GPS password, and change the description from Exchange to GPS (or whatever you would like to call your email account). Click Next, then Done.
- If you are asked for other information such as a server name, you have entered the email address or password incorrectly. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
- Tap the iPhone/iPad home button and go to your Mail app to check your mail. Set notifications (see instructions below) to turn on the “number of messages” indicator.
Other mail settings: Signature, default email account, and notifications
- To change your email signature, go to Settings, tap Mail > swipe down and tap Signatures. Enter your signature and tap the Mail back arrow to return to Mail.
- Type your full name and remember this signature will be used on emails to your teachers.
Default email account
- If you print using your iPad or iPhone, the email to firstname.lastname@example.org must come from GPS.
- To set GPS email as the default account, go to Settings, tap Mail > swipe down and tap Default Account > then tap the name of your preferred default email account to add a checkmark.
- To show the number of new messages next to your mail icon, tap Settings > Notifications > Mail > switch Allow Notifications to on (green).
- Next, click the arrow next to your GPS email to turn the Badge App Icon to on (green). Turn the icon on for other accounts, such as Gmail, if desired.
